The Constellations, astute purveyors of Atlanta’s rock/soul underbelly, have signed with 429 Records and released of “DO IT FOR FREE”—their debut album for 429 and the follow up to their acclaimed debut “Southern Gothic.” Led by Elijah Jones, and featuring Wes Hoffman (bass), Travis Phillips (guitar), James Gordon (keyboards) and Shane Hoffman (drums)—the band reinforce their reputation for hard swinging alt beats but have honed their musical outlook concentrating on muscular grooves and a more soulful melodicism. Produced by Andy Rose, the swirling funk anchored by the B3 and Fender Rhodes Organ provides the perfect backdrop for the band’s trademark gritty songwriting. Known for their live show, the band is performing now on tour in support of Matisyahu.
"Do It For Free is a damn fine follow-up to their debut record. All the tunes are upbeat and full of sounds that will make your ears happy to be ears. The music is guaranteed to get you moving and the lyrics will have you singing along."
