BODEANS’ NEW RECORDING“MR. SAD CLOWN”
SET FOR RELEASE APRIL 6
Premier American Rock Band Signs With 429 Records
Appearing March 19 @ SxSW Festival
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Kurt Neumann and Sam Llana, aka the BoDeans, have signed with 429 Records and are readying the release of “MR. SAD CLOWN,” a collection of fifteen all new songs written and performed by the band. Hailing from Waukesha, Wisconsin the BoDeans have long been considered one of the premier American rock and roll bands having created a roots-based, signature style over a long and influential career. Since their universally acclaimed 1986 debut “Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams,” produced by T-Bone Burnett, the band have won fans the world over, played alongside the biggest names in the business and garnered critical and commercial acclaim. Produced by Kurt Neumann, “MR. SAD CLOWN” will be released on April 6th by 429 Records which is distributed by Universal/Fontana in the U.S., Universal Music in Australia and E1 Entertainment in Canada.
A musical collaboration that’s approaching 30 years, it’s easy to forget how pioneering, and much imitated, the BoDeans were and remain. Voted “The Best New American Band” by the readers of Rolling Stone when they first started, the BoDeans have continued to evolve honing their sincere lyricism, heartfelt melodies and rich guitar sound. “MR. SAD CLOWN,” their thirteenth project overall, is proof that listening to the best singing and songwriting partnerships never gets old.
The BoDeans will be touring throughout the year and have confirmed a few special appearances at this year’s South by Southwest music festival including March 18 (Fontana/Universal showcase) and March 19 (in support of Cheap Trick!). The BoDeans are managed by Barbra Neumann, Danny Goldberg and Brady Brock for Gold Village Entertainment.
