Voice on Dr. John: “Crucial” & “Magnetic” ‘City That Care Forgot’ Set For Release June 3 Appearance On Letterman June 17

New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Dr. John is “crucial,” and his new album is out June 3rd. So says the Village Voice in their glowing review of ‘City That Care Forgot’ (429 Records) on stands now.

“Fan-pleasing funky grooves aside, ‘City That Care Forgot’ seems angry enough,” exclaims the Voice. “Taken in full, these 13 tracks might insight more widespread outcry: He channels post-Katrina fury as capably as rappers like Juvenile have, and lays out relevant issues – local, national and global – in ways that, say, Nancy Pelosi simply hasn’t. If elected leaders lack Dr. John’s political will, they also don’t have his magnetic drawl or the bristling power of his Lower 911 band.”

Dr. John and the Lower 911 are set to perform on Late Night with David Letterman on June 17th and that same evening in NYC at the Highline Ballroom in celebration of the release of ‘City That Care Forgot.’ In what is easily his best work in the past 20 years, 'The City That Care Forgot' provides the
Good Doctor’s most pointed and political lyrics to date and is coupled with the rollicking good time New Orleans party vibe that made him a legend.
