MONKY PREPARE TO UNLEASH “TURBULENCE”
Los Angeles’ Indie Pop Phenoms’ 429 Records
Debut
In Stores June 14
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 429 Records is excited
and proud to unleash “Turbulence”, Saucy
Monky’s first album for the alternative label,
on a heretofore unsuspecting music audience. One of
Los Angeles’ best-kept secrets, Saucy Monky are
Annmarie Cullen and Cynthia Catania, musicians whose
songs present a super-sharp take on modern life and
love—tough, wise, often hilarious and filled with
damn catchy riffs and gorgeous vocal harmonies---they
both know how to sing and work a guitar…”Turbulence”
is the follow up to “Celebrity Trash, a low-fi
introduction to the Saucy manifesto—songs such
as “Don’t Wanna Know Your Name” and
“Flicker” establishing the energetic, irreverent
vibe that’s rocked many a crowd from Ghengis Cohen
to the Viper Room. “Turbulence” is the latest
in Saucy Monky’s ever-evolving take on the increasingly
perilous urban landscape—widespread adoration
is imminent soon after release date of June 14.
May 2 is the date that the world will start spinning
to “Disco Ball”, the fierce first single
off of “Turbulence”. First appearing on
“Celebrity Trash”, the song has been amped
up for wide release—everyone from MTV to the WB
are already intrigued. With a cd full of irrepressible
gems, it looks to be a very Saucy Summer! Complete track
listing is as follows: “Disco Ball”, “Turbulence”,
“Speedball”, “Umbrellas”, “Good
Day Down”, “Solid Ground” “Bright
Side”, “Everyday Lover”, “”Pink
Flamingos”, “Boyz”, “Everybody
Wants Something More”, “Spark” and
a loving reworking of the Divinyls’ classic “I
Touch Myself.”
Says Sheila Volpe, Saucy Spotter @ 429: “This
is the summer of Saucy Monky, and believe me these girls
add a whole new meaning to the term “monkey business…”
There’s no way 429 Records could pass up their
amazing talent!”
Be on the lookout for an extensive club tour this Summer—your
best chance for intimate commiseration with Saucy Monky…
