This is the first album in 12 years by The Roches (Maggie, Terre and Suzzy), who've been peddling their blend of folk, Tin Pan guitar arrangements.

The Roches have always been terrific songwriters, and this batch, including two that directly address the September 11 attacks, have an unforced unsentimental beauty about them. And Moonswept is certainly one of the trio's best sounding albums. The production, handled by the Roches and Stewart Lerman, is crisp and punchy; it sounds like Maggie, Terre and Suzzy are right in your living room.
